The Four P's of Marketing

We all know the traditional four P's of marketing: but I suggest there should be a fifth P.

1. Product: the tangible aspects of the product or service itself
2. Place: the purchase location, channel and availability
3. Price: the pricing model, value proposition and cost advantage
4. Promotion: the amount and nature of the outbound and inbound marketing activities
5. Purchaser: the motivation behind customer purchases

Biography (less than 300 words and publicity photo)

Ron Wessels most recently served Cisco Systems as the AT&T Program Manager in the Service Provider Customer Experience group. As the AT&T PM, he defined and facilitated alignment of customer deliverables, product solutions and marketing tools including, mapping deliverables to Plans of Record and solution ?best practices.? Formerly, as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Umbra Data, he successfully launched the brand, initiated a global sales effort and built a significant sales pipeline. In addition, he served as the Senior Marketer and Chief Operating Officer for MDK Motorsports. In 2006 he was brought on as Managing Director to shift MDK Motorsports from a race team to development and execution of an operational business plan.

Mr. Wessels founded Kynergy LLC, a strategic marketing and sales consulting practice, in 2001. Kynergy successfully secured funding for start-ups, delivered marketing and sales for product and service offering launch, as well as, delivered strategic sales to and marketing consulting for well known, publicly traded and highly regarded companies including: Cisco Systems, SAP (Virsa Systems), Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Universal Studios and others.

Mr. Wessels served as the marketing and sales executive for Starwire, a Sequoia Capitol backed network ASP, from 2000-2001, where he successfully planned and executed the marketing plan and rollout of a robust syndicated network ASP and content management system. From 1994-1999 he served CKS and USWeb/CKS, a leading Integrated Marketing Communications and Professional Services company, as Director and then General Manager of Onsite Services.

Mr. Wessels holds a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has served on both private non-profit and for profit boards and currently serves on the board of two privately held companies.
